- Make ready 5 pieces nice non-spicy papad
- Take 1 medium potato (cut into pieces)
- Prepare 5 tbsp oil
- Get 1/2 tsp kolonji
- Take Pinch hing
- Get 1/2 tsp randhuni
- Make ready 3 slitted green chillies
- Make ready 1 bay leaf
- Take 2 dry red chillies
- Take 1 small tomato (cut into pieces)
- Take 1.5 tsp cumin and coriander paste
- Take 1/2 tsp turmeric paste
- Make ready To taste salt
- Get 1 tsp ginger paste
- Prepare Pinch garam masala powder
- Take 1/2 tsp ghee
- Prepare as required water
Papor er Dalna was a family favorite in my place! We used to have it almost once in a month (mostly on Saturdays) in lunch and since then I love the typical aroma comes from this curry prepared with Papad. Papads is a thin crispy wafer like dish. It is one of the indian traditional food item.
Steps to make Papad dalna:
- First heat oil in a pan. Fry papad pieces. Keep aside. Fry potato pieces adding salt and pinch of turmeric powder. Keep aside. Add bay leaf,dry red chillies, kolonji, randhuni into oil. Add hing.
- Add green chillies and tomato pieces. Cook for 1 minute. Add ginger paste, cumin paste, coriander paste, turmeric paste,salt and 1 tbsp water. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add fried potatoes and mix well. Add 1.5 glasses of water and let it boil for 5 minutes in medium to low flame. Add papad.
- Cook for 2 minutes and add garam masala powder and ghee. Put of the flame. After 2 minutes it is ready to serve.
