  15. Take 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  16. Make ready 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  17. Take 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  18. Prepare 1/4 tsp black pepper corn powder
  19. Make ready 3.5 cups water 250 gms
  20. Get 2 tbsp freshlly chopped coriander leaves
  21. Prepare 1 tbsp mint leaves/pudina
  22. Get 2 cups ordinary rice

I have been sharing varieties of Vegetable Biryani recipes for the past few months in my Sunday Lunch recipes series. Usually people make different types of biryani on weekends especially. This hyderabadi veg biryani or hyderabadi vegetable biryani recipe is a slowly cooking method where the preferred vegetables are stir fried and mixed with all the spices to make a sabzi masala, mixed. Veg biryani recipe - For making vegetable dum biryani, basmati rice and vegetable gravy are partially cooked separately first.

Steps to make Veg biryani:
  1. Take a pressure cooker, add 2 tbsp oil and heat it.
  2. Add a bay leaf, whole garam masala that is cinnamon stick, cardamom and cloves, shahi zeera and saute for few seconds.
  3. Add sliced onions and cook them until onions turn soft.
  4. Add chopped green chillies, cook the onions until they turn slight golden color.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for few minutes on low flame until raw smell disappears.
  6. Add the potato cubes, carrot slices, green beans, matar, mix and saute well for few minutes.
  7. Add the tomato pieces, mix and cook until the tomatoes get soft.
  8. Add the curd, mix and cook until oil starts releasing.
  9. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, black pepper powder.
  10. Mix and cook until the masala is cooked well and until oil starts releasing at the sides.
  11. Add 3.5 cups of water, add chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, mix well. - Add 2 cups rice, mix well.
  12. Add salt if required and give a mix. - Cover the lid of the pressure cooker.
  13. Pressure cook for 3 whistles on medium flame.
  14. Reduce the steam.
  15. Remove the lid.
  16. Veg biryani in cooker is ready to be served.
  17. Serve hot with raita or any biryani side dish.
