The ingredients needed to make Chili Sambal:
  1. Prepare 1 lot of red chili!!
  2. Get Red bell pepper or capsicum (more if you prefer less spicy)
  3. Make ready 2 tomatoes
  4. Prepare 4 big shallots
  5. Prepare 10 garlics
  6. Prepare turmeric
  7. Make ready salt
  8. Get sugar
  9. Get 2 lemongrass
Steps to make Chili Sambal:
  1. After washing all ingredients, you can either boil them or fry them to make it soft and easy to grind. I prefer boiling them. Avoid boiling the garlic, lemongrass, and tomatoes.
  2. Pound the ingredients, start from the chili, continue adding other ingredients and start with the hard ones until the softest ones. I use stone mortar and pestle to crush the ingredients. Crush until it smooth. Salt and sugar helps smoothen the texture. Don't forget to taste it.
  3. Prepare oil and pan, cook all the crushed ingredients until the smell is out and fragrant.
  4. Add the lemongrass and stir until all even.
